Additional Volunteer Information

General Work Expectations
If staying onsite, adult volunteers are asked to contribute 6-8 hours per day unless other arrangements are made. A normal work day generally begins after breakfast and ends prior to supper.

Lodging/Meals
If lodging is available, volunteers can stay onsite at no charge. Volunteers are also invited to eat meals for free when the volunteer is working.
There should be no expectation on the volunteer's part for compensation for the services they render.

Families
If a family volunteers at camp, only one parent is expected to volunteer for the full day. Children under 18 years of age must be under supervision at all times by the other parent. Families may work together on projects at the parents’ and camp director’s discretion, but the children are always the responsibility of the parents.

Use of Program Areas
Use of the camp program areas are subject to the discretion of the camp administration. Some areas require staff supervision, such as the waterfront and archery range.

Camper Bible Sessions
Volunteers may attend Camp Oak Hills sponsored Bible sessions as long as it does not interfere with the volunteer's responsibilities or the camp program.

Pets
Please check with the camp director to receive permission to bring any pets on the property. Animals are not allowed in the camp buildings unless they are certified service animals.

Power Equipment
State law requires that no one under the age of 18 operate power driven machinery or work in logging & lumbering. No one under the age of 16 is allowed to operate any power driven equipment.

Injuries
All injuries must be reported to the camp director immediately.
