2024 Summer Missionary

Dear Friends and Family,

Last summer I went to work at Trout Lake Camps with the intention of becoming an intern when the summer ended. I wanted to gain as much knowledge of media and audio/visual stuff as possible so that I could go back to Camp Oak Hills and serve them better. My summer was a blast — I met new people, learned a ton, and had a lot of fun doing it. However, I turned down the internship at the end of the summer — my family was moving back to Bemidji, and Trout just didn’t seem like the best fit.

However, after receiving a phone call a couple months later asking if I’d consider the internship again, I agreed to come to Trout as a part-time intern, which I have been doing since October. I have been going down to Trout once a month for a week at a time and as needed on some weekends. This has been such a fun season, and I’ve continued to learn and grow so much in my role there.

I’m taking a break from Trout for the summer and going back to Camp Oak Hills to be their Media Specialist. I’ve learned so much from my supervisor at Trout and I’m excited to implement the things I’ve learned into my work at Oak Hills. I’m also very excited to go back to a closer-knit community and be at a smaller camp again. The theme at camp this summer is God is Powerful. The theme verse is Ephesians 3:20-21. “Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

This summer, I’ll also be working as a PCA for a family in Bemidji. I’ve been working with them since September, and it’s been a great learning and growing experience for me, and a blessing for both me and the family.

I also have the opportunity to go to Kansas City with my youth group this summer. We are going to the E-Free Youth Conference, Challenge. This will be a fun week of learning, worshipping, and serving, while building stronger relationships with the people in our youth group. I’ve never been able to go to this conference, so I’m excited to have the chance to go my last year of high school.

I would love it if you would support me this summer through prayer. Here are a few ways you can pray for me this summer.

-         Pray that I can rest and balance my busy schedule this summer.

-         Pray that I would be a blessing to fellow staff members, campers, and camper families.

-         Also pray for God’s wisdom and discernment as I head into a new season of my life this fall.

-         Lastly, pray that I get enough support this summer to keep reaching my financial goals.

I would also appreciate it if you would prayerfully consider financially supporting me this summer. Camp Oak Hills is a small camp, so most of our paychecks this summer come from friends and family who are willing to come alongside us and support us. My support goal is $2,500. This money will go toward funding my trip to Kansas City with my youth group, as well as meeting everyday financial needs. If you would like to help meet this goal, you can simply return the enclosed response card or give online at campoakhills.org. If giving online, please enter my name in the “Summer Staff Support” section. (All donations are tax-deductible.)

I also have another way you can support me this summer! I am partnering with Fund The Nations. Fund The Nations is a company that helps fund mission trips and nonprofit organizations. They work with clients to make t-shirts and hoodies to help fundraise. If you would like to support me by buying a t-shirt, please contact me either by email, text, or phone call. Any money that I raise from this will go towards my camp fund and the Challenge trip with my youth group.

God Bless,
