Dear Friends and Family,

My name is Evy Buchan. I am a high school senior, graduating in the spring of 2024. This year will be my third official summer serving at Camp Oak Hills. Starting in late May, I will be learning what it takes to be the head cook for the summer. During the two and a half weeks before camp officially starts, I will be familiarizing myself with the kitchen and the recipes as I prepare meals for the staff while they go through their own training.

As the summer progresses, I will be in charge of prepping, serving and cleaning up after dinners and helping with lunch. In the evening, I will be prepping snacks and cleaning the kitchen as well as making needed preparations for the next day.

When July comes, I will take a break for one week as I journey with other students from my youth group to Kansas City where we will be attending a conference along with other activities. This fall, my plan is to attend a Bible school in Albania. I am excited for what God has in store for me these next months.

The focus of my letter is to ask for your support through prayer as well as finances. Serving as a head cook is bound to come with high stress levels. Please pray I will be able to quickly learn how to efficiently do my job. I also ask you to pray for patience each day. As the summer progresses, pray God will prepare me for the opportunities He has put before me.

Along with prayer, I also need to raise financial support. My position will involve a combination of a paid salary and raised support. This enables the camp to remain financially accessible to as many campers as possible. My goal is to raise $3,000 by August 1st. Reaching this goal will help cover the cost of going to Albania for Bible school in the fall.

Would you commit to praying for me regularly during this summer as I serve campers and staff? In addition to this, would you consider making a financial gift towards my goal of $3,000?
