Dear Friends & Family,

My name is Chris Schlador. I am 17 years old and am just completing my sophomore year of high school. Over the past three summers I have volunteered at camp on the SOS (Serving Others Selflessly) Team, which involved helping with doing dishes, cleaning the bathrooms, and weeding the lake, which is my favorite activity to do at the waterfront. Last summer, I helped at the waterfront as its assistant, manning the Buddy Board, making sure the campers and staff were signed in and out at their respective time. Last fall, I started attending a local private Christian high school, and during my time there, I’ve volunteered at Ruby’s Pantry once a month, helping out all I could. At home, I enjoy playing video games and going to youth group at my church.

This summer I have an amazing opportunity to serve as a summer missionary at Camp Oak Hills. My summer will start in early June with an intensive two-week training period. Then, I will serve for 6 weeks investing in the lives of campers as the Waterfront Assistant, which means I will be helping to maintain the waterfront so campers can enjoy being there and running the buddy board so campers can stay safe. I am also hoping to do more of the program stuff, like helping with Archery Tag.

The focus of my letter is to ask you to partner with me in this ministry opportunity. To enable camp to remain financially accessible to as many campers as possible, I am required to raise funds to provide for the staff salary portion of the camp ministry expenses. My support goal is to raise $1,000 by August 1^st. When camp ends, I plan to put the money I raise towards buying a new computer for myself.
